Singles League Racing Points System The Singles League Racing new points system is designed to reward racers who try hard and push for a fast time, to enable all racers of all levels to get points, and to not guarantee maximum points to racers in very small classes simply for turning up and beating the cut-off time. Here's how this new system works: A racer who registers a time in their handicap range or faster will score the following points for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th place etc., down to 18th place:
All racers finishing in 18th place and below will score one point (so long as they finish - a racer who fails to finish or is disqualified scores no points). If a racer registers a time in the handicap range of the class below their own, then they will score the points from one place lower in the list (20 for 1st, 17 for 2nd, 15 for 3rd, etc.). Racers finishing in 17th place and below will score one point. For the S10 and SB9 classes this will apply to racers who achieve a handicap between 120 and 149.99. If a racer registers a time in the handicap range of the class two below their own, then they will score the points from two places lower in the list (17 for 1st, 15 for 2nd, 14 for 3rd, etc.). Racers finishing in 16th place and below will score one point. For the S9 and SB6 classes this will apply to racers who achieve a handicap between 120 and 129.99. For the S10 and SB9 classes it will apply to racers who achieve a handicap between 150 and 199.99. If a racer registers a time giving a handicap that does not beat the cut-off handicap for their class, then they will score one point. For the S0 through S8 classes the cut-off handicap is the bottom of the handicap range for the class two below (S3 through S10 respectively). For the S9 and SB6 classes the cut-off handicap is 130, for the S10 and SB9 it is 200 (increased from the previous 150). For reference, the following are the handicap ranges and cut-off handicaps for the classes:
